In recent years, boudoir photography has evolved beyond its traditional role as a gift for a partner into a powerful tool for self-care and confidence-building among my clients. When I started photographing women over 13 years ago, it was a way to create intimate and sexy images as gifts for significant others. Now it has shifted to something far more powerful….and I am here for it!
Today, my clients are increasingly embracing boudoir photography as a form of self-expression and empowerment. Rather than focusing solely on pleasing others, these photoshoots have become a means for them to celebrate their bodies (where they are right now), explore their sexuality, build confidence, and step outside their comfort zone. It’s about capturing personal beauty, strength, and sensuality moments in a safe and supportive environment. I am so honored to help provide that space.
Doing a boudoir photoshoot is now seen as an act of self-care. It offers my clients a chance to prioritize themselves, their bodies, and their self-esteem. The experience itself can be life-changing by seeing themselves in a way they never have. By working with me, my clients are able to step back and see themselves through a lens of empowerment and positivity.
Boudoir photography serves as the ultimate confidence-building exercise. I encourage my clients to step outside their comfort zones, embrace vulnerability, and celebrate their bodies in all their forms. The process of prepping for a shoot—choosing outfits, discussing how they want to look in their images, and posing, etc—empowers my clients to look outside their normal and project their dream image.
The shift in boudoir photography is showing a broader movement towards self-acceptance and body positivity. As women, we are finally catching on to the unrealistic beauty standards that have been set for us.
